Hey heyy! The Level Set: I've been sitting on something for months, and today you get an official save the date.
Long story cut entirely too short: this has been the hardest fucking season of business I've had. Why am I telling you that in a newsletter that's supposed to be teasing something exciting? Because the secret and the hard season are the same story. One caused the other.
Something stopped working. I felt it before I could name it. Then I named it, and once I did, I couldn't really unname it. For a long time I've held this company together the way I've always done. Both hands on the ball of wires, gripping tighter every time it got bigger, telling myself that was just what building looked like.
This year the ball got too BIG for that. My arms were tired. So instead of gripping harder, I finally set some of it down and took a long hard look at it. I've spent the last several months with my team repiecing and rebuilding. Quietly at first.
And if you've been following along in this newsletter, or across any of the campaigns we've run this year, you already know we've been trying on a lot of different products. Testing. Scrapping some. Testing again. We finally landed on some exciting product validation.Â
Then not so quietly, because I am pretty good genuinely terrible at keeping secrets like these. Here's what I can actually tell you today:
- Who we serve is evolving. I've spent months looking hard at who actually needs what we do, and who we ENJOY working with. (We love all of you, don't worry.)
- A newer way to work with us is underway. Built so we can serve more people, and in a structure I'm genuinely proud of. (I'm proud of all our products, but THIS one is stellar.)Â
- My own brand is shifting too. Not small. This one I'm the least ready to explain, so I'm not going to try today.
Here's what I still can't tell you: the name, the shape, or any of the actual mechanics.
Is that annoying? Kind of. Am I doing it on purpose? Also yes. And if you're reading this thinking "okay but why does any of this matter to me, this is your business, not mine"... fair question.Â
Here's why. When something changes on my end, it changes what's possible on yours too. AND this time the change is bigger, so what comes out the other side will be too.
Why September 11, and why five hours? Because a shift this size doesn't fit in a 45 minute webinar with a slide deck and a Q&A box nobody remembers to use. Plus, we'll have some incredible partners join. 👀 (Okay, stop, I CANNOT tell you anything more.)
We ran a five hour business intensive earlier this year and people would not shut up about it afterward. In the BEST way. That's not me being modest about it either, the feedback was some of the best we've ever gotten, and I'm not interested in doing a smaller, safer version of that just because this next one has more riding on it. If anything it deserves more room, not less.
So here's your official save the date: September 11th. Clear your whole afternoon. Live, virtual, five hours, same format people loved the first time, and it's where I'm sharing what's changing publicly for the first time.
🗓 September 11 · 5 hours · Free · Virtual Save your seat: 👉 https://luma.com/ftr1xfil
I can see a future here that other people cannot see yet. I need you in the room when I finally start pointing at it.
