Hey! The Level Set:Â The one thing to get right before you hand any part of your sales to AI, and a two-week move that makes outreach stop feeling gross.
Somewhere in your contacts right now are ten people who would hire you if you showed up right. You know it. And you still opened your laptop this morning, stared at the screen wondering who to reach out to today, and went and did client work instead.
I get why. Outreach is slow. Doing it at scale feels gross.Â
So the new instinct is to hand the whole thing to AI and let it blast on your behalf. Please don't. Outreach by brute force was already the problem, and AI just makes the mess faster.Â
Here's the belief I keep coming back to: AI works best when you've nailed a system as a human first, and then hand the technology your system to run.
Expert Insight of the Week:Â
Google and CEB studied thousands of B2B buyers for From Promotion to Emotion and found that personal value outweighs business value in purchase decisions, by roughly double.Â
Your prospects are people before they're logos. They buy from the consultant they feel like they already know.
The Shift: The Warm-Up.Â
Ten to fourteen days of showing up in a prospect's world before you ask for anything. A comment on their post. A resource that helps them, zero ask attached. A note about their work, in your voice. By the time you invite them to a call, you're a familiar name instead of a cold pitch. You will never "just bump this to the top of your inbox" or "just circle back" again.
What This Looks Like in Real Life:Â Year to date I've had individual conversations with ~330 solo consultants, and the pattern is the same every time.Â
The ones booking calls aren't sending more messages. They're sending warmer ones, to a shorter list, on purpose.
Your Next Move:Â
Pick ten people from your own contacts. For each, write one line on why they'd be a fit and one thing you could send them this week that helps them and asks for nothing.Â
That's the warm-up, by hand. Do it once and you'll feel the difference in your replies.
AND if you want to build the whole system with us, ranked lead list, warm-up campaign in your voice, same-day follow-up, all of it running with an AI coworker you build yourself: that's the Sales + AI Co-Pilot Bootcamp. Monica and me, live, starting Tuesday, August 18. 24 seats only.
