Run this quick test over the next week. Pay attention to how you talk about your decisions. Notice when you say:
“I’m thinking about…” “I might try…” “I’m exploring…” When the truth is that the decision is already made. Or notice when you preface something with:
“I know this might sound crazy but…” That phrase alone has probably cost more founders momentum than they realize. Try something different.
State the decision clearly. Not aggressively. Just clearly. “I’m doing this.”
“This is the direction we’re going.” “This is the investment I’m making.” Watch what happens when you remove the apology from the sentence. Most of the resistance you expect never shows up.
